The deal is done

Well, we put John Hancocks to paper tonight and have become officially indentured to our new townhome! It does indeed look to be perfect for most of our needs; we are still puzzling out the WWS set-up, but the rest of the functions and features are non-pareil. We take possession on 3/15 and will release this place on 3/31; of course, since we are in Hawaii until the 26th, we really only have five days in which to move, and that's during the first week of the quarter for me. It's always something.

I put up a Yahoo photo album with pictures we took tonight.

Congrats on the space! You will be allowed to paint, though, yes? I don't think OWS would work terribly well.

Okay, so only the dining area is orange. In the flow of space on the middle floor, the kitchen is green, and the dining area is orange, and the living room is kind of a smoky lavender. We actually like the colors. It sounds weird, but it works when you're actually there.

Our current plan for White Wall Spectration is to either [paint a 66 x 48 bright white square] or [put a 66 x 48 bright white canvas] over the fireplace. We're still figuring out the furniture placement is wot.

It's actually lucky that I got overloaded this quarter or we never would have been able pull this off after committing to paradise.

OK, I'll take your word for it since you've actually been there. Plus, empty spaces look very different from filled spaces. Having said that, I vote for the white canvas; won't a big white patch on the wall be a bit strange? Unless Otis makes a nice arty border all around it...

Congratulations!

I am looking forward to the shorter commute to events as well.

Wow, it will make the Oscar night a little sentimental...perhaps our last big shindig on Phinney.

The colors are great! So hip, so urban!

Congratulations, Walter, on the new place. It looks great. I watch HGTV, and orange is a hot color especially paired with blue. Opposites on the color circle.

We'll be in Hawaii, too, from March 1 - 16 on Maui. If you're nearby, let's get together.

I hope I did this blog thing correctly. You young kids with your new gadgets...

Great colors...but then again I've been known to paint my walls orange on purpose!

My first reaction to the slide show was: a bit boring, but it's got all the mod cons and there's lots of space. Then came the color, and was, like, ya know, wow, that's so, like cool!

Color good! White walls bad! However, I do like the idea of the artfully framed which square.
